Aqua & Red

Inspired by the packaging graphics of this vintage snack set, I put together a new display in the shop. The winning combination of aqua and red is a great example of a complimentary color scheme with classic appeal.

When decorating your abode consider using this fun combo. So bright and cheerful, it's sure to lift your mood instantly.
If you have questions or need pricing on any of the items shown, please e-mail or call the shop.

Bumbee's New Job

We put the chickens in their new coop last night. It was quite the production. John and Bennie secured the premises against marauding raccoons. There was extended discussion as to the sleeping arrangements. One of the chickens had been pecked by the others so we thought it best to separate them. We tried to talk Bennie into bringing a sleeping bag over for the night and guard over the chickens. Tee Hee.
The next morning though all was well at the coop. We let the ladies out of the coop into the "day room" to scratch around. They seem to have taken well to their new abode.

Bumbee is very protective of her new chickens. First thing in the morning she ran down to the coop and has been standing guard all day. If someone approaches, especially a neighborhood dog, she barks furiously.
It's so important for dogs to have a job.

New Dresser

I found this fabulous dresser at the thrifts this week. I thought it was kind of a drab shade of brown so I planned to pant it. But upon closer scrutiny I noticed the piece had several layers of interesting paint so I decided to do a little judicious sanding to see what was under the brown.
Check out the greens and red under the ugly brown. After sanding here and there, I finnished it off with a coat of polyurethane to seal it.
The once drab dresser is now for sale in our shop and priced at $199.

Down on the Farm

We finally got some vegetables in the ground today. After another rainy and cold week here in a Utah, temps were in the 80's. Great gardening weather.
Bumbee just doesn't know what all the fuss is about....her food comes out of an Alpo can.
Heather and Maddie are hard at work shoveling gravel. I like a tidy garden with gravel paths around the beds to cut down on the mud and weeds.

Heather pauses from her shoveling to strike a pose.

I tried to make the rows as straight as possible but near the end I became a little tired and gave up.
Mmmm. Can't wait to have a yummy salad.
I'll bet you had no idea that gardening could be this glamorous.
