While cruising up the Hamakua Coast on The Big Island I spotted this little gem on the side of the highway. You know I can't resist a decrepit old building, so I pulled over to take a look around. It appeared to have been a storefront at one time. What a shame that it was abandoned.
I wonder if these will fit in the overhead compartment....hmmm.
Look how the jungle just moves in and takes over. In Hawaii, nature is on steroids! These plants have just pushed their way into the cracks of this building.
Great pealing paint. In Hawaii, they call this "Shaka Chic".

A few yards beyond this building is a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean and here I am taking pictures of a crumbling building....do you think I'm weird?Love, Kelly
