Decorating for the Season with White Pumpkins

Fall "Colors"

We just put the finishing touches on our Fall display. As you can see, we love neutrals this time of year. For us, Fall colors are really a lack of colors.

Vintage Hankies

Kelly recently returned from her trip to Minnesota with tons of beautiful vintage hankies.  While I love using hankies for their original purpose, there are so many creative ideas for repurposing them into a variety of accessories and home decor that I would love to try.  Here are a some of my favorites! Down by the Bingo Casino....

Whenever I travel I try to find a good  flea market. After doing some research on the internet I came up empty. So when I arrived in Bemidji I asked around to see if anyone knew of any flea markets. I was told about an informal market on Friday mornings in nearby Cass Lake.  I was told to take the highway a few miles east and turn off when I see the Bingo Palace Casino sign.

There were a few cute items like this primitive yet charming Paul Bunyon desk top decor. Nothing says Minnesota quite like Paul Bunyon and Babe, the Blue Ox, dontcha know? There were a few other items of interest but the overall theme of this market was death as you can see by the bountiful selection of knives, guns, traps and dead animals, etc.

I can appreciate a good selection of "Mantiques" as much as the next person but all these weapons of mass destruction were a little too gruesome for me.

Even the Ken dolls are dressed to kill.

KD Floral

While I was in Minnesota last week I discovered a lovely little shop in downtown Bemidji. KD Floral  is a delightful shop where you can buy live plants, floral arrangements, jewelry, artwork and gifts.

Minnesota Vacation

This week I have been visiting family in the town of Bemidji, Minnesota, the home of Paul Bunyon.

In between family outings, birthday parties and baby showers, I managed to squeeze in a flea market
excursion and some thrifting. I plan to share all my adventures with you so be sure to check in tomorrow....
