I was always one of those gals that liked to stay in shape with daily trips to the gym. That is, until I decided to open this little shop of mine. My daily workouts soon fell by the wayside to make time for working around the clock to get my business up and running. I told myself it was temporary and once I got things going I would return to the gym. Silly me.
That was four years ago. I realized that since opening Second Hand Chic I had not stepped foot inside a gym. I turned fifty this year and have made up my mind to get back in shape. I signed up for a monthly pass at Centered City Yoga. I figured yoga would be a nice easy way to ease my flabby fifty year old body back into some semblence of firmness.
The nice folks at Centered City Yoga offer beginning classes for former slugs like myself. Occasionally I like to mix things up with the Power class. I'm truly amazed at the moves that these yoga gals come up with. My favorite is the "crazy eight balancing on one elbow while doing middair split", although I don't believe that is the official name. I'd better stick with the Restore class for now.
So the moral of the story is if you ever feel complelled to open a shop of your own remember the importance of maintaining balance in your life.
Love, Kelly

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteDo you sell exercise gear and active wear clothing at your store?
ReplyDeleteKelly, Thanks for stopping by to see my Valentine's. I keep saying I'm going to get back to working out and believe me..once you get into the mid and late 50's it becomes even harder. Do it now! Take my word. I used to be sickly thin and now I'm more than healthy plump!
ReplyDeleteI must do the balancing act too...one day soon. Dang I should have read this before I ate a beautiful chocolate cupcake!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Kelly!
Buns of steel might be good, but a soft creamy center is better.
